Suspended
in isolation on a high cliff-top gorge, above the Bhote
Kosi River the Last Resort is an enchanted sanctuary surrounded
by dense jungle and pristine forest. Uniquely crafted
in local stone, wood and slate, the resort has an intimate
dining hall with centuries old wood carving, delicious
food, luxurious bungalows, herbal steam room, plunge pool,
showers, toilet facilities and a well stocked bar. All
the indulgences of home in a very exotic setting. The
sprawling terraces of the resort are meticulously landscaped
and the bungalows and buildings are coaxed to become one
with the land with each passing monsoon. Limited access
across our purpose built bridge guarantees privacy in
this magnificent area.
The Last Resort combines all the essential elements necessary
for inspired adventure or total relaxation in one of the
finest environments found in the world. Without a doubt
this is Asia's premier natural playground.
Trekking: Just
outside the boundary of the Last Resort is untouched land,
where time has stood still in the hustle and bustle of
the space age, creating an ideal area for short and long
treks and a taste of truly historic cultures.
Canyoning: an amazing full body and mind
experience that enables you to explore some of the last
forbidden places in the Himalayas. Canyoning involves
abseiling, climbing, jumping, swimming and sliding down
steep canyon walls and waterfalls to deep pools below,
through intimate passages of contorted rock and powerful
blasts of water. Having pioneered new canyons we continue
to explore and the potential is phenomenal.
Climbing: A work out on our own on-site
Rock Climbing wall will certainly get your taste buds
ready for some great food and drink at the Instant Karma
grill and bar. We have ropes and harnesses but recommend
bringing your own climbing shoes; these can even be found
in Kathmandu. If you are a serious climber you may want
to think of bringing your own gear.
Rafting & Kayaking: Tumbling from
the snow-capped peaks of Tibet, the Bhote Kosi river provides
some of the most exciting rafting and kayaking in Nepal,
and is quite possibly one of the best short river trips
offered anywhere in the world. It's sort of like being
flushed down a huge open-air toilet, but the Tidy Bowl
Man is your guide and there are no worries. The beautiful
location, thrilling, adrenaline charged whitewater, and
the ability to stay in the luxurious Last Resort make
this one of our favorite rivers.
Regular kayak clinics are available on the lower river
sections and there is no better place to experience the
thrill and gratification of learning to kayak in the Himalayas.
Bungy Jumping: Ultimate Bungy at The
Last Resort in Nepal may be the most spectacular Bungy
Jump on the Planet. This remarkable 500ft (160m) drop
into the Bhoti Kosi River gorge on the Nepal/Tibet border
is the longest Free-fall in the world. Designed, constructed
and operated by very experienced Kiwis to exacting international
standards your safety is guaranteed. It is Nepal's Ultimate
Rush.
